Mrs. Peggy Mixon Post, age 68, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday July 21, 2016. Mrs. Post, a native of Jacksonville, FL, lived most of her adult life in Blackshear where she had been a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church. She had lived in Statesboro for the past ten years and was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Post was a caring, Christian lady who will be remembered as someone who loved Jesus, her family, who never met a stranger, had a smile for everyone, and possessed a sweet, sweet spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Doris Davis Mixon, and her husband of ten years, Denning S. Post, who passed away on April 21st, 2016, exactly 3 months prior.
Survivors include three brothers, John A. Mixon (Vicki), Orange Beach, AL, Barry L. Mixon (Debbie), Troutville, VA and Glenn E. Mixon (Joan), Blackshear, GA; a twin sister, Penny Mixon Roberts (Larry), Lawrenceville, GA; sister-in-law, Linda Cothren, Alma, GA; brother-in-law, Wayne Post (Barbara), Milton, GA and several nieces and nephews.
A celebratory gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Julian Ward officiating. Please stop by to say hello, share a memory or talk with friends and family. All are invited.
