Patricia was born in Statesboro and was raised in Brooklet. She graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 1966. She attended Cosmetology School and worked as a beautician for many years and also served as a caregiver for many years. Patricia was a member of Harville Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and playing Bingo at Orchard Manor.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dell and Annie Maude Hendley; paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Gertha Newman; her parents, Benjamin E. and Annie Mae Hendley Newman; brother, Ben Newman and nephew, Christopher Newman.
She is survived by her daughters, Anita Burke and her husband, David and Amanda Collins and her husband, Shannon all of Brooklet; son, Donnie Wilson and his wife, Sabrina of Brooklet; eight grandsons, Brandon and Caleb Burke, Kyle Collins, Landon, Cole, Clay and Cayson Wilson and Addison Morgan; two granddaughters, Katie Collins and Ansley Burke; Brother, B. E. Newman and his wife, Gladys, of Brooklet; nephew, John Newman and his wife, Glenda; and niece, Christina Schanen and her husband, David.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:30 to 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home immediately followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Patrick McElveen officiating.
Burial will be held privately in Red Hill Church Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the loving staff of Orchard Manor for their excellent care given to Mrs. Wilson.
