Mrs. Eva Linda Akins Suddeth, age73, passed away peacefully at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility Friday morning , May 23, 2014 surrounded by friends and family. Mrs. Suddeth, a native of Bulloch County, was a 1959 graduate of Statesboro High school. In 1963, She graduated The Womens College of Georgia in Milledgeville with a Masters Degree in Education. She taught school for five years at Millford Elementary School in Marietta. After returning home to Register, she was employed with Royden Wear and T.J. Morris for many years in the payroll departments. Mrs. Suddeth retired from East Georgia Regional Medical Center as the Director of Volunteer Services after 20 years of service. She was an active member of Register Baptist Church for 35 years as a choir member, Sunday School teacher and music director. She enjoyed spending time with her family; especially the annual family vacation week at Fernandina Beach, traveling, and playing Bridge. She was a kind and wonderful lady who will be deeply and sadly missed by all. Mrs. Suddeth was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and H.E.(Erastus) Akins, a brother, Edwin Akins and a brother-in-law, Eugene Ellwood.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Don Suddeth, of Register; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Stacy Suddeth, Register; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Murphy, Atlanta, and Eva Grace Suddeth, Register; one brother, Henry Akins, Register; two sisters, Sandra A. Ellwood, Statesboro and Cynthia A. Wycherley(Alan), Annapolis, MD; nieces, Lea Akins, Laine Lynch, Lindi Sullivan, Cynthia Loraine Miller; nephews, Tommy Akins, Tal Akins, Jim Manley, Patrick Manley and Brandon Wycherley; many great nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Register Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the church with the Reverends Carl Ledbetter and Jim Correll officiating . Burial will be in Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Scott, Stacy Suddeth and Joyce Rigdon.
