Dorothy Rushing Cowart, age 76, passed away Sunday at Southern Manor. She was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County and graduated from Brooklet High School in 1954. She was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and retired from Belk’s. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted M. Cowart.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna (Jimmie) Norris of Richmond Hill, GA, and Debbie (Frankie) Johnson of Sylvania; her siblings, Dan (Dot) Rushing, Shelva Jean Deal, Jerry (Barbara) Rushing, and Mack (Janet) Rushing, all of Statesboro; two grandchildren, Justin Norris and Whitney Lee Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.
Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
