Deborah “Debbie” Pierce Wise, 49, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by her loving family.
Debbie was born in Savannah, graduated from H.V. Jenkins High School in 1984 and lived most of her life there until moving to Brooklet in 2004. While in Savannah, Debbie attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, served as co-leader of the Cub Scout Pack 5 at Grace United Methodist Church and was past president of the CARS Ham Radio Club of Savannah. She worked for 25 years with Memorial Health University Medical Center as a medical transcriptionist in the Radiology Department and received her Associate's Degree in Business Administration form Ogeechee Technical College in 2014. Debbie currently attended Brooklet United Methodist Church. She loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper. She was a member of the Otter Hole Branch Hunting Club and loved vacationing in New Mexico and being surrounded by wildlife and nature. She especially loved being surrounded by her family and friends and was considered to be the “glue” that bound them together!
Debbie is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Joey Wise of Brooklet; son, John Wise and his wife, Ariel of Brooklet; parents, Russell and Lynn Pierce of Savannah; brother, Gary Pierce and his wife, Robin of Brooklet; sisters-in-law, Christine Wise of Bluffton, SC and Marie Solomons of Rincon; nieces, Kristin and Brittany Pierce of Brooklet.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Larry E. Bird officiating. Burial will be in Corinth-Leefield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Hynko, Chris Wise, James Beagle, Justin Holland, Gary Holland and Perry Knight.
