William Earl Middleton Jr.

A visitation for Earl will be held on Saturday, January 8th from 2-5 pm at the Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY, 10310. A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Helen Sawaya Fund are requested. This fund reframes cancer treatment at Mt. Sinai hospital.

As a reminder, the Governor of New York announced masks will be required for all individuals (age 2 and up) entering the funeral home effective Monday, December 13th, 2021.

Earl was born in Atlanta, Georgia and is survived by his wife Gail, son William, his father William Middleton, his sister Angie Williams and his niece Sarah Dennis. He graduated from Georgia Tech and was employed as a surveyor. He played violin in a rock band in his college years and loved music. His love for the outdoors included hiking, cycling and scuba diving. He was a master carpenter, gourmet cook and loved to travel. He planned the most amazing vacations. His passions included genealogy and tracing his Greer and Gunn roots back to Scotland and Ireland. His other passion was space and space exploration. We will look to the stars and remember you.
