Born on June 15, 1960, in Staten Island, New York, the son of the late William Formica. William is survived by his beloved wife, Bianca (Franchini) of 39 years, his mother, Rosemarie (O’Rourke) Formica, and his mother-in-law, Phyllis Franchini.
Loving and proud father of William C. Formica (daughter-in-law, Dana Formica) and Juliana Salzarulo (son-in-law, Salvatore Salzarulo). Devoted twin brother of Kenneth Formica (Andrea) and his sister Norma Formica Comisar. Cherished grandfather of Salvatore, William, Giuseppe, Liam, Francesca, Lucia, and Valentina. Beloved Uncle and Great Uncle of many.
William was a graduate of Curtis High School class of 1977 and a Curtis football Warrior. He graduated from Wagner College class of 1981, where he met his wife, Bianca. At Wagner, he was a member of Delta Nu Fraternity and played on the football team. He later received the Alumni Association Award from Wagner College for his philanthropic contributions to the athletic program. William was a member of Tiro A’ Segno for over 40 years. He was a founding member of Casa Belvedere and was awarded the “Casa Cavalieri Award” in 2017. William is a successful developer and co-owner of Atlantis Marina and Surf City Marina. He enjoyed spending time at his beach house, fishing, boating, and watching his favorite team the NY Giants, alongside his dog, Whiskey. His most cherished activity was being surrounded by his beloved family and adoring friends.
Services will be held at Harmon Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 10 Austin Place, on Wednesday, May 29th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
