Wayne R. Smith June 22, 1955 - March 12, 2016 Wayne R. Smith of Staten Island passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, March 12, 2016, surrounded by his family and beloved girlfriend. Wayne was born in Brooklyn and resided on Staten Island for most of his life. A graduate of St. Peter's Boys High School who went on to become a New York State court officer, he reached the rank of sergeant as a NYS Supreme Court officer on Staten Island. Following his deep passion of music, Wayne entertained many audiences as a singer and performer with "The Bob Shop"; "Trax"; "The Passions"; "The Cliftonaires"; "Little Isidore and the Inquisitors," and for the last eight years with "The Capris." Wayne, the son of the late Alfred and Anne Smith, and the brother of the late Rosemary Smith-Brown, is survived by his brother, Al Smith and his wife, Linda, and his nephews and nieces, Christina and Tim Butler; Al Smith and Maria Interlandi and grandnephews and nieces, Annelise, Sean, Matthew, Veronica, Al (Gus) and Lillian. Wayne is also survived by his beloved Sandra Italiano and his former spouse, Teresa "Chickie" Brown. The family will receive friends at Virginia Funeral Chapel, 1707 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, N.Y. 10305 from 5 to 9 p.m. March 17, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of Holy Rosary, 80 Jerome Ave., Staten Island, N.Y. 10305 at 9:30 a.m. March 18, 2016. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Grasmere.
