Vincent John Licata, 90 Enjoyed long career as fish market manager and owner Vincent John Licata, 90, of Rosebank passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Clove Lakes Nursing Home. Services are being handled by Dongan Hills Virginia Funeral Chapel, 1707 Hylan Blvd., S.I. NY 10305 (718) 987-2828. Viewing will be Sunday, Nov, 20, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Virginia Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Ann's R.C. Church, Dongan Hills, is on Monday, Nov. 21, at 11:15 a.m., followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Grasmere. Mr. Licata was born in Manhattan to Francesco and Maria Licata. At a young age, he began working in fish markets and after his service in the U.S. Army, he returned to New York and continued his long career in working, managing, and owning various fish markets and shops. He was married to the late Lillian, who passed in 1996. They were married for 46 years. Vincent is survived by his three children, Mary, Frankie, and Rosemarie; five grandchildren, Philip, Richard, Frankie, Michelle, and Nicole, and one great-grandchild, Ryan. He is also survived by his sister, Carmela Aceto, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Rosario, Anthony, and Frank. Vincent enjoyed spending time with his family. His love of working with fish led to fishing becoming a hobby. He also loved to eat fish accompanied by a glass of fine wine. He also enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, drawing, and trips to casinos.
