Vincent P. Keane

He was the beloved husband of Girvan who passed away in August 2017; loving father to Sharon Dibsdall of Honiton England and Loving brother to Eileen O'Neill of Austin Texas. He was predeceased by his parents Timothy and Bridget and his brothers John, Tate and Mike. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Vinny attended St Peters grammar school and then attended McKee high school. He was a 'Fresh Air Fund' kid when he was younger. He would spend the summers working on a farm upstate in Georgetown NY. He liked it so much that he persuaded his parents to let him stay up there and finish high school.

After high school he enlisted in the US Air Force. He served in Japan during his first stint. He then reenlisted and was stationed in England, Italy and stateside before he was honorably discharged.

In 1961 he began his 26 year career with Con Edison. While working there he was Vice Chairman for Local 3 IBEW on Staten Island. He retired as a senior substation engineer in 1987.

Upon retirement he lived in Georgetown NY, Ocala FL and Hendersonville NC before returning to NJ in 2019 to be closer to family.He was deeply proud of his Irish roots and enjoyed singing and listening to Irish music. He made many trips to Ireland to visit cousins and he also made many trips to England to visit with his daughter Sharon. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements are being handled by Harmon Funeral Home. Viewing will be Tuesday from 3 to 7p.m. Funeral Mass is at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday 10:30 am. Private cremation will follow.
