STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Vincent Festa, 81, of New Dorp, a retired Staten Island Rapid Transit motorman and U.S. Army veteran, died Friday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
The Curtis High School graduate was born in Stapleton. He settled in New Dorp 35 years ago.
He worked as a motorman for 40 years, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed travel, gardening, fishing, boating and horse racing.
He served stateside in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda; his sons, Vincent and Joseph; his sister, Isabella Starnes, and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Casey McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills. Arrangements include cremation.
