On Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, Thomas O'Brien passed away. He was 77. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to James and Rose O'Brien. Tom, after graduating from Fort Hamilton High School, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to serve his country during Vietnam. He later served his community, by joining the NYPD, where he served for 22 years. He was a detective and was married to his beloved wife Elaine for 41 years. Tom loved old Western films, his family, his country, and was a die-hard Yankees fan. He is survived by his four children, Dawn, Tracy, Jim, and Katie, along with his four grandchildren, Ava, Olivia, Luke, and Amelia.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 30, 2022, from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Clare Church, 110 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10308. A committal service will occur Friday, December 30, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11792.
