Beloved son and brother
Sean Michael Collins, 29, tragically passed away on Feb. 19, 2018, while visiting friends in Puerto Rico.
Sean was the son of Noreen Collins and the late Robert G. Collins. He is survived by his sister, Tara Collins and brother-in-law, David Drogon, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Sean was born in New York, N.Y., at NYU Langone Health. He attended St. Teresa's elementary school, Msg. Farrell High School and graduated from St. John's University in 2010 with a B.S. in accounting. He joined the IBEW Local No. 3 Union in 2011. He completed his three-year apprenticeship and received his journeyman card in 2014 and was promoted to foreman in 2016. He spent the majority of his career in Staten Island and recently volunteered to assist with the restoration of power in Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.
Sean will be remembered as being spontaneous, a true lover of life, a hard-worker, the first person in the room to make you smile, and always willing to undertake any challenge sent his way. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed boxing, fishing, skiing, traveling and, most recently, developed a passion for golf. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local No. 3 brotherhood. His contagious smile and great "Collins" sense of humor will be missed by all as he touched so many lives.
Visitation is at Harmon Funeral Home on Saturday, March 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. as well as Sunday evening, March 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa's Church Monday at 10:45 a.m.
