He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Trost; his brother, Sandy Trost, and his wife, Kathy; his brother, Chuck Trost, and his wife, Gina; his sister, Susan Hicks, and her husband, Mike; his sister, Jackie Ammirato, and his sister, Betsy Wallner, and her husband, Ray, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
He was fiercely loyal and devoted to his family and friends. He graduated from St. Teresa's, Wagner H.S. and DeVry. He was an avid mountain biker and enjoyed working on electronics, especially assembling sound systems to listen to music. He followed the local punk rock scene. Bobby was a season ticket holder of the N.Y. Islanders and often attended games with his brother, Sandy, and nephew Ryan as well as other family members. He was a great fan of the Islanders, the Jets and the Mets.
Bob, an animal lover, had many pets over the years, including lizards, tortoises and cats and is survived by his cat, Naja. Bob followed politics and national events closely and was passionate and vocal about supporting liberal causes.
Funeral services are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave., S.I., N.Y. 10314. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Casey Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Monday Jan. 30.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, 575 Woodland Ave., Madison, NJ 07940.
