Born in Manhattan, Mr. Sbarra moved to Great Kills in 1992.
Mr. Sbarra worked for 15 years as a courier for Federal Express, Manhattan. He also worked for four years as a courier with the Daily News. Due to illness, he stopped working three years ago.
Mr. Sbarra graduated from a high school in Manhattan and was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
Mr. Sbarra enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
"He was the most wonderful husband and loving father in the world," said his wife of 19 years, the former Gina Spero.
Along with his wife, Gina, also surviving are three sons, Joseph, Robert and Raymond Jr.; his parents, Robert and Jeanette Sbarra; one brother, John Sbarra, and two sisters, Ann Marie Sbarra and Patricia Frattini.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
