My deep sympathy on the passing of Peter. But we now have to celebrate him as a risen Christian who shares eternal life with his brothers and sisters in Christ. May your fond memories of him remain in your heart.

Pete was my supervisor in Group One of the IRS CID Brooklyn District for several years . He was a great Leader as well as a Good Friend.  He  always at a Smile on that Irish Face . My Deepest Hearfelt  condolences to his family.

Pete was my supervisor for a time at IRS-CID. Besides being a teacher, mentor and a professional at his position, I always considered him a friend. My sincere condolences to his family.
 

Pete will always keep a warm spot in his heart for me since I provided him with the first Special Agents Report in his branch  subsequent to his transfer to Manhattan from Buffalo.

It had been several months since his arrival and no Pros reports haad crossed his desk and he was stressing.

When  laid the SAR on his desk he sighed  through his smile at me and uttered just one word -

Finally!

Later he informed my supervisor Chuck Cutaia that after reviewing the CIMIS tables and op reviews he thought my case was just about the last  case that had any prospects for success.

I was glad to bolster a good guy then and I am happy to wish him the best with his latest transfer.

RIP Pete.

I'm going back about 40 years ago when Pete was either the Assistant Chief or the Branch Chief in the Newark Office of Criminal Investigation. I was a newly minted Special Agent assigned to the organized crime group back in 1984. Thought that it was pretty cool at the time, working with some pretty senior agents on the top mob 
guys in Jersey. From the standpoint of being developed into a productive special agent though I wasn't learning much. In his infinite wisdom Pete called a meeting of the new guys, in the OC group. At that time, it was Mike Connelly, Kathy Murry and my humble self. He told us that he was bringing all of us into the Paterson POD so that we can get some Title 26 experience. We all thought it was the kiss of death and our dreams of being future Elliot Ness's went up in smoke... but what did happen is that we became solid CI Case Agents who would go on to hone our skills to excellence! Thanks Pete Rest in Peace. I know you were proud of all of us, and I will always respect and appreciate what you did for us.

Pete was the best Special Agent-in-Charge I encountered in my career.  He went out of his way to help me as a new agent in Brooklyn when he was a manager.  He was always supportive when there were issues with other agencies and the US Attorney's office.   I will never forget the time he stayed after hours to meet with me and fellow agents and he reversed a decision he made on behalf of the US Attorney's Office to side with the agents.  Everything worked out in the end and he always commented that he was glad he reversed his call.  He was a great leader, communicator and overall person.  He always made me feel welcome and I enjoyed his great sense of humor.  He was a good friend to my father who was a former Special Agent and who also admired Pete.  I am proud that I worked under his command and he will be sorely missed.
