She was born Patricia Boyle on May 29, 1937 to Frieda and Henry Boyle on Staten Island. She is survived by her loving and much-loved daughter Mary, sisters Nancy and Linda, brother Michael Boyle and many nieces, nephews and their children. Cherished widow of Frank Pesci, who passed in 1989.
Patty, as she was familiarly known, was a caring and gentle person, thoughtful of friends and family. She enjoyed creating small gifts of simple toys and sparkles for the youngest children and crafted baby blankets for every new arrival. She baked breads and sweets for her friends and extended family members for all holiday seasons.
Her focus in life was the love she felt and wanted to share, with her only child, Mary, and her siblings, then with every niece and nephew and their children.
She cherished her many friends and loved spending time with them, visiting, playing cards and chatting about their lives and families. Her friends were her chosen family and her time with them was one of her greatest joys.
Pat was a woman of abiding faith. In addition to her regular devotions, she taught CCD at St Christopher’s Church on Midland Avenue for many years.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Virginia Funeral Chapel. Formal Catholic services and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be announced. Gloves will be provided and face masks appreciated, if available. The family thanks you and looks forward to sharing with you our joy in Patty’s life.
Twenty-Third Psalm
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for
Thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me. Thou preparest a table before
me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou
anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth
over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow
me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell
in the house of the Lord forever.
