Native Staten Islander and Teacher
Patricia J. McIntyre, 92, of Randall Manor, Staten Island passed away peacefully at her home of 65 years on October 21, 2018 in the company of her children.
Patricia, graduated from Curtis High School and Notre Dame College of Staten Island and later obtained a Master of Arts Degree in English while living in the Albany, New York area. She went on to teach English at PS 40 in West Brighton and then at Anning S. Prall Intermediate School 27 until her retirement.
During her summer vacations from the classroom Patricia enjoyed the peace and quiet of northern Vermont where she maintained a summer residence.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Claire McIntyre and son James McIntyre of North Brunswick, New Jersey and her granddaughter Elizabeth Tietjen (Schneider), her husband David Tietjen and great grandson Finn Eliot Tietjen as well as her brother David O’Brien and his wife Ann of Vero Beach, Florida. She is also survived by a niece and four nephews.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband James O. McIntyre, Sr. in 1953 and her sister Elizabeth Pocchia as well as her parents Harry and Elizabeth O’Brien.
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Castleton Avenue at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday with internment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery on Amboy Road, Staten Island.
