STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Michael (Mickey) J. Sarracco, 85, of Midland Beach, a retired food services employee, talented musician and linguist, died Sunday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

He was a Mason.
A talented musician, Mr. Sarracco was a skilled accordion player and loved music. In his younger years, he was a member of the wedding band, "The Skylighters."
He spoke four languages fluently -- French, Italian and Spanish in addition to his native English -- and had a passion for all things Latin, including music and dance. He also was fond of eating good food, dining out, and going to Broadway shows in Manhattan.

Afterglow... I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun. Of happy memories that I leave behind when my life is done.
Arrangements under the direction of Virginia Funeral Chapel, Staten Island, NY.
