

Mary A. Paolillo, age 82, of Staten Island, New York passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Born Mary A. Maronna on September 1, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Mary was the cherished daughter of Leonard and Genevieve Maronna.
Mary spent her formative years in the vibrant neighborhoods of Brooklyn, where she developed her infectious smile and laughter that would become her trademark. She graduated from James Madison High School in 1959 before attending Brooklyn College, where she cultivated her passion for learning and connecting with others.
On May 28, 1966, Mary married the love of her life, Anthony W. Paolillo, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They settled in Staten Island, NY, in 1968, where they built a warm and welcoming home for their growing family.
Mary's career path in the 1960s and 70s reflected her diverse talents and compassionate nature. She worked as a switchboard operator for the New York Telephone Co., graced the runway as a model for Barbizon Modeling Agency, and served as an administrative assistant for various office firms through a temporary agency. Outside of her professional endeavors, Mary found joy and fulfillment as an after-school religious education teacher at Holy Child RC Church, where she shared her faith and love for children.
A woman of boundless energy and kindness, Mary touched the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious smile and laughter brought light to every room and endeared her to countless individuals. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose love knew no bounds. She cherished family gatherings, where she delighted in creating memories with her loved ones.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Anthony W. Paolillo; her devoted children, Matthew Paolillo and Jennifer Kim (Paolillo); her adoring grandchildren, Joseph, Jessica, Julia, Genevieve, and Cameron; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
In honoring Mary's memory, let us carry forward her spirit of joy, love, and friendship in our own lives. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be forever remembered.

A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Ave, New York, NY 10309.
