Mary A. Malley
January 7, 1928 – September 14, 2017
Mary A. Malley (nee Schulz), beloved mother and grandmother joins her loving husband, Donald, and eldest daughter, Barbara, in Heaven. Mary passed away on September 14, 2017 in Staten Island University Hospital surrounded by her devoted family.
Born in Brooklyn, Mary was a long time resident of Breezy Point, N.Y. and has resided in Staten Island for the past 4 years.
Mary worked for many years in the CCD program at St. Brendan’s RC Church in Brooklyn as a secretary before joining George Clark Realty in Brooklyn from where she retired in 2011.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and was especially devoted to helping care for her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, listening to Big Band music and watching classic movies.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Susan Malley and Mary Anne Semon, son-in-law Donald Semon and her loving grandchildren, John (Luke) D’Amico and Donald, Margaret and Robert Semon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Joyce Meyer Ministries’ “Hand of Hope Foundation” that arranged for the rebuilding of Mary’s bungalow in Breezy Point following Hurricane Sandy.
Casey Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Family and Friends will be received on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Forest Avenue and Manor Road, Staten Island, on Friday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m.
