Martin Thomas Stewart

September 15, 2019 at Richmond University Medical Center. He is survived by his loving wife,

Diane Fletcher-Stewart, his children Isabel (Robert) Stewart and Daniel Stewart, his brothers

Michael (Eileen) Stewart and Daniel Stewart, his sisters Laura (Walter) Bullard and Barbara

(Edward) Asfouri, his stepchildren Cody (Haley) Pregent and Lindsey Pregent. He was beloved

by his grandchildren, Cole, Cooper, Mason and Shane. He will be missed by his extended

family, including his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as the entire Fletcher

family, whom he loved very much. Marty was predeceased by his parents, Eileen and Robert,

his brothers Robert and Edward, as well as his dog, Conan. He proudly served his country in

the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Blandy. He retired as a Facilities Engineer working for the

U.S.Coast Guard. He most recently worked as a driver for Local 817, where he was (somewhat)

affectionately known as “White Lightning.” He was Scoutmaster for Troop 24 of the Boy Scouts

for many years. He was a lifelong die-hard fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. The

services will be held on Tuesday, September 17 from 7 - 9pm and Wednesday, September 18

from 2 - 4pm and 7- 9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s

Children’s Research Hospital.
