He attended Alexander Hamilton H.S. and was an Army corporal in World War II, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and Expert Infantryman's Badge. A retired NYPD police officer, he was a parishioner of Mary Queen of Heaven Church and an American Legion member.
Marco enjoyed football, baseball, spending time with family, old movies, and Big Band music. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He was the most caring and loving member of our family, and always available to lend a hand.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nuziata DeSerio, and brother, Vito, he is survived by his brother, Michael DeSerio and his wife, Shirley; sister-in-law, Virginia DeSerio; nieces, Nanci Lagarenne, Linda Perham, Joie Leigh, and nephews, Joseph, Billy, and Richie DeSerio.
Donations in Marco's name may be made to the NYC PBA Widows and Children's Fund.
Visitation is Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home. Funeral is Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery.
