Lorraine R. Silva

If you had the great fortune of knowing Lorraine, you know she was a very special lady, loved by all.

Lorraine was born and grew up in Staten Island. She attended St John Villa Academy and graduated from Wagner College with a degree in Early Education.

Lorraine met the love of her life, Arthur, in Al Deppe's and they married in 1968. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before Arthur's passing in 2021.

Lorraine adored her children, Jennifer and Artie, and their families, Timothy, Deirdre, Timothy Jr, Matthew and Christopher.

Staten Island was home for most of her life, until 2019 when she moved to Howell, NJ.

Lorraine spent her life as a teacher. Most of them teaching at St John Villa Academy. She educated and enriched the lives of thousands of children for over 35 years. It was her passion.

Lorraine enjoyed traveling all over the world and took many vacations- Italy, Paris, Greece, Alaska and Aruba to name a few.

We are so sad but so grateful for our lives with Lorraine. She will be truly missed.

A visitation for Lorraine will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at St Teresa Church, 1634 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314. A graveside service will occur Friday, August 4, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at St. Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
