Retired D.S.N.Y., beloved grandfather
Leo Fisher, 75, of Staten Island, N.Y., beloved Husband, Grandfather (Papa), Father, and stepfather, brother, son, and friend, passed away on February 20, 2021. Leo was born on May 14, 1945, born in Harlem, N.Y. and grew up on Staten Island, N.Y. Leo was a hard-working man; he never went without working less than two jobs at a time and even after retiring from D.S.N.Y., for many years after continued to work with the oil Company Statewide in Red Hook, Brooklyn where the crew caringly nicked named him "Uncle Leo." That is how many knew and loved him as their favorite uncle. All his nieces and nephews adored him and even if you were not related to him, he was everyone's favorite uncle who would occasionally let you ride his kiddie truck swing just to put a smile on your face.
He was also known as the first person to make you laugh with a joke, give directions better than a GPS, and was a diehard Yankees fan who hardly ever missed watching a game without yelling to the teams when they made mistakes. He was also beloved by many of his friends that he carried close relationships with including his "partner in crime" Denise Tobin.
May he now rest in peace with his son who passed before him also known as Little Leo, his parents Helen and Leo Fisher, and big brother Billy Fisher, and sister-in-law Connie Fisher. He is survived by his wife Lesly Fisher and daughter Elaine Fisher & granddaughter Serena, stepdaughter Caroline Schneider, son-in-law Bjorn, his sister Peggy Harris, brothers Bobby and Eddy and brother-in-law Billy, sisters-in- law Joanne & Janet & many nieces and nephews & cousins will all miss him and Always Keep his Memories Alive. Our Family Loves him so Much.
