Kathleen was a lifelong Staten Islander. If you knew her, you most certainly loved her and had something nice to say about her sweet demeanor. She lived her life day to day helping any and everyone who came across her path. She was known for always having a smile on her face and a kind word to say.
Kathleen was blessed to have met her wife Kathy who she devoted her life to. Through the years they’ve had so many memories, moves, pets and endless laughter together. Together loved nothing more than spending time with friends and family, and taking Muffin for a nice walk before cuddling up for the night. She was happily looking forward to retirement and settling down with her honey in New Jersey.
Kathleen was also a lifelong healthcare worker, she was widely known and loved, particularly, at Staten Island University Hospital. She spent the last 25 years of her career in service to her co-workers and patients. Everyday she found a small way to cheer someone up, or just have a small chat with a patient who needed it. She lived doing small acts of kindness which embodied her selfless, humble nature.
This attitude and work ethic led to her receiving the Cintas C.A.R.E. Award for excellence in 2023. It was recognition long in the making, and everyone on 4A will assure you it was well deserved because Kathleen truly cared for people.
Her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her. As a tribute to her kindness, please keep her in mind when you find yourself doing those small acts of kindness to make someone else’s day a little bit better.
