June Grimaldi

June Grimaldi passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at the age of 89, at Staten Island University Hospital South Campus.

Born on June 29, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, to Fiorevante and Olivia Sorrentino. June lived a life filled with love, family, friends, and dedication. June was an alumna of Bay Ridge High School. June married Louis Grimaldi, with whom she shared many wonderful years until his passing in 2004. Together, they raised three children in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. She devoted over two decades to her career as a medical secretary at Maimonides Hospital. June and her family moved to West Brighton, Staten Island in 1997.

June is survived by her children: John Grimaldi and his wife Mary, Judith McHugh and her husband Michael. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Lois Grimaldi, widow of her late son Andy Grimaldi, who passed away in 2011. Her grandchildren, Anthony Grimaldi, Nicholas Grimaldi, and Andrew McHugh.

In her leisure time, June was an avid bowler. Above all, she cherished spending time and making lasting memories with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for June will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 1091 Forest Ave, New York, NY 10310. A burial at St. Peter's Cemetery will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM, 52 Tyler Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310.
