Josette Anne Roesch, 74, passed away on Sept. 27, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Born Josette McDougall in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 16, 1942, she came to New York on the Queen Mary at age six. She lived in Arrochar and moved to Dongan Hills after she married her husband, Frank, and settled in West Brighton in 1968. Josette attended Curtis H.S., and was a Sunday School teacher in the 1970s at Calvary Presbyterian Church. She worked as a receptionist in the x-ray department at St. Vincent's Hospital for many years, and graduated from the College of Staten Island with a nursing degree in 1984. She worked as an RN at Staten Island University Hospital on 3A and in the Recovery Room for 10 years. She loved to cook and bake for everyone, especially her famous cheesecake. She enjoyed going out with her friends and touched many with her kindness. Josette had a love for her dogs, Kali and Bronson, and would often be seen taking them on long walks around the neighborhood with her granddaughter. Josette adored her two grandchildren, family and friends. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Josette leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Frank; a daughter, Sharon Roesch- Suhr, son-in-law, Robert, and two grandchildren, Ryan and Samantha. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Florence McDougall, and two brothers, Samuel and Ian McDougall.
