Joseph M. Dillon

Joseph Michael Dillon, age 94 of Chestnuthill Township, Saylorsburg, PA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg, PA. Joseph was the loving husband of the late Loyola (Dutton) Dillon who preceded him in death on June 21, 2004.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 29, 1927, son of the late Michael and Lillian (Fay) Dillon. Joseph had worked as a Second Vice President for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City, NY for many years until retiring. He served our country with dedication and courage in the United States Marines during World War II and Korean Wars.

Joseph was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, PA where he served as a Lector and Extraordinary Minister. He was a former member of the Joseph Diamond American Legion Post in Brooklyn, NY. We have been blessed with the presence of Joseph in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his sons: Kent Dillon and his wife Cathy of Saylorsburg, PA, Kerry Dillon and his wife Barbara of Staten Island, NY, and Keith Dillon and his wife Margurite of Effort, PA.

Joseph was lovingly known at "Grandpa Joey" to his six grandchildren: Christopher Dillon, Matthew Hahn and his wife Dawn, Diana Cabot and her husband Christian, Kristi Dillon, Matthew Dillon and his wife Kyel, Richard Hahn and his wife Danielle and his five great-grandchildren: Druce Dillon, Daphne Dillon, Garret Hahn, Declan Hahn, and Dillon Joseph Cabot. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Loyola, he was preceded in death by two siblings: Gerald Dillon and Eileen Messina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Monday, March 7, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, PA. Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with vigil prayers during the evening hours and Monday, March 7th from 10 am until 10:30 am at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, PA.

Additional viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Ave., Staten Island, NY. Joseph will be laid to in the Cemetery of the Resurrection in Staten Island, NY,
