Joseph D'Alessio, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at home. He was born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn on July 14, 1952 to parents Helen and John D'Alessio.
He attended St. Bernadette Elementary, followed by Lafayette High School and shortly after began working at Kaplan Buick. After moving to Staten Island, Joseph and his business partner opened the Marina Cafe, followed by the Marina Grand, where he ran their family businesses for over 35 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa, children; Christina, Amanda and husband John, Joseph Jr. and wife Ashley; granddaughters, Theodora-Joey and McKenna; soon to be grandson John; and his sister Susan (D'Alessio) Lombardo and brother-in-law Sam.
Joey loved taking the sun, barbecues in his backyard with his family, vacationing in Aruba, martinis, rock-and-roll, riding his bike, driving his Ferrari, and mostly, spending time with his best friend - his wife.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Clare Church, 110 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10308. A committal service will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 at 12:15 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.
