Army Veteran, Con Edison Mechanic, worked 9/11 recovery effort A lifelong Staten Island resident, John Visconti was born and raised in Concord, relocated to West Brighton in 1982, then to Sunset Hill in 1992, passed away on Sunday with family at his side. He was married to Maria Cardone Visconti for 40 years with whom he shared his passion for music, a whole lot of dancing and spending time at their mobile home in Lancaster, PA. A very well known "Mr. Fix It' throughout the borough, he applied his talents as a master mechanic for Con Edison based at Davis Avenue for more than 38 years. John was also an avid hunter, especially when with his brother Alfonse in upstate New York. He also loved crashing parties and Elvis Presley movies with daughter Pamela as well as his all-day 4th of July antics with son Jack and teaching both how to be proficient with tools. Aside from his wife Maria, he is survived by his daughter Pamela Visconti, son John L. Visconti Jr., brother Alphonse Visconti, sister in law Patricia Visconti, sister and brother-in-laws, Ann and Al Cardone, not to mention many nieces and nephews with a countless amount of friends, coworkers and extended family. His love for family was unmatched by others, especially when it came to his grandchildren Mackenzie, Reese and Aiden. Everyone knew him for his energy, crazy personality and always ready with a joke or two or three. He will be greatly missed to say the least. Arrangements are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, Thursday from 4 to 8pm followed by a mass at Sacred Heart RC Church Friday 10:45am. Burial will be at St Peter's Cemetery.
