Born in 1937 in Newark, NJ, Joan managed to live quite the full life. She held many different jobs, from a waitress to a home health aide, and even lived in California for a short period before settling in Brooklyn. She and her first husband, George Doyle, were blessed with four beautiful children, Luanne, Susan, Mark, and George. Following his untimely passing in 1985, Joan was lucky enough to find love again in John Russo and gained four loving step-children, John, Debbie, Robert, and Donna. The two were married until John passed away in 2012. Joan had many talents, from cooking to finding a good shopping deal, but she was, perhaps, most talented at being an amazing grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Samantha, CJ, Gabrielle, Damian, Jason, Jessica, and Olivia. Her infectious smile and incredible stories (which, at times, seemed almost movie-worthy) will be missed. Aside from her children and grandchildren, Joan is survived by three siblings, Pete, Camille, and John. She was predeceased by her brother Joe.
