Jane Tauber, a beloved friend and family member of the Staten Island community, passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born on February 3, 1949, in Staten Island, NY, to Elizabeth Scahill and Grover Odenthal. Jane will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her loving husband of 38 years, Joseph, her daughter, Rebecca, as well as her siblings: Rosemary, Paula, John, Charlotte, and Grover. Their cherished memories of Jane will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Jane was a graduate of Curtis High School and further pursued her education at the Fashion Institute of Technology with a focus in Textile Design. The role she was most proud of was being a dedicated and devoted mother, wife and caregiver. Her passion for helping others was evident in her work.
Outside of her professional life, Jane found joy in various hobbies. She had a love for playing guitar, singing, cooking, reading, creating designs with fabric as well as expressing herself in drawing and coloring activities which brought her immense happiness. These activities allowed her to express her creativity and immerse herself in the beauty of art and literature. Among friends and family she took joy in finding the humor in life and engaging in debating concerns close to her heart. Above all she valued and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Jane was a woman of faith and worshipped at Our Lady of Good Council. Her devotion and spirituality were integral parts of her life, providing her with strength and solace.
In memory of Jane Tauber, let us celebrate her life, her accomplishments, and the countless lives she touched. She will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual who brought joy to those around her. May she rest in peace..
A funeral service to honor Jane's life will be held at Our Lady of Good Council on Monday, September 18th, at 11:00 am. Wake Service will be held September 17 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Harmon Funeral Home. The service will be a time for family, friends, and community members to gather and pay their respects to this remarkable woman.
