James F. Sills Jr.

Jimmy was born in Brooklyn on October 10,1948 to James and Joan Sills. At 10 years old, he moved to Staten Island. He graduated from St. Peter’s High School. He served in the Army reserves for several years. Jimmy retired after 25 years from New York City Sanitation at the age of 47. He continued to work at local saloons in our community as a bartender. Jimmy was an active man who enjoyed running and going to the YMCA. He ran the New York City Marathon and the Boston Marathon several times. He always loved watching the Yankees, Giants and Duke basketball. Jimmy was a social guy who made friends everywhere he went.

A beloved father, brother, and grandfather, he is survived by his daughter Tracy (Corey), his granddaughters Madison, Cassidy and Avery, sisters Deborah (Dan) and Sally (Larry), a brother Kevin (Sandy) and their families.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Joan and James, brother Eddie, and fiancé Liz.

Jimmy will be honored and remembered Monday January 29, 2024 at Harmon Funeral Home from 2-4PM & 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, January 30,2024 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
