Brother, Uncle, & Friend, "A Day with Jim was a Day Well Spent" It is with profound sadness that the family of James Piscopo announces his passing on February 16th, 2023 at the age of 67. Jim was born in Stapleton as a third generation Staten Islander to William and Mary Piscopo. He graduated Curtis High School in 1973. He played football and established life-long friendships during his time there. James then went on to pursue his career as an IT Specialist. He retired as a dedicated and valued employee of Equitable Financial in 2017. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends. Some of his fondest social pastimes were golfing at Silver Lake Golf Course and routing for the horses at Monmouth and Saratoga Race Tracks. Long Beach Island was another place Jim frequented almost every summer to make and share memories with family and friends. Anyone that spent time with Jim knew it was a day well spent. He had a quick wit, warm smile, and a kind, gentle heart - and his notorious Irish exit was always expected. He will be sorely and forever missed by anyone that was fortunate enough to know him. Jim is survived by his attentive and loving siblings: Jeanne DeYoung (Don), Katherine Dowdell (Tom), William Piscopo (Liz), Susan Madaia (late Frank), Michael Piscopo (Cindy), Joseph Piscopo (Laura), John Piscopo (Diana), and Gail Kelly (Tom). Jim was also a beloved uncle to many adoring nieces and nephews as well great nieces and nephews, which filled and brought much joy to his life. Friends and family may visit on Sunday 2/19 from 3-7pm and Monday 2/20 from 4-8pm at Casey Funeral Home; 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314.
