Gloria Pecoriello (nee Marotta), resident of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 5th, 2024 at the age of 72. She was married to her beloved husband, Michael Pecoriello for 52 years.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 7, 1951, she attended Lafayette High School. Later, she met her husband, Michael, and they had twin daughters, Jennifer and Janine, who were the light of her life. Gloria worked as a school aide for the Department of Education for 19 years, retiring from her last and longest position at Tottenville High School. She enjoyed her morning coffee with her husband, spending days shopping with her daughters, playing mah-jongg with friends, and doting over her five grandchildren. She loved spending summers in her yard entertaining her family and traveling with her husband.
Gloria will always be remembered as a woman of tradition. Her Sunday gravy and hosting of holidays, particularly Christmas, brought her family together, which was truly what mattered most to her. She took great pride in her appearance and would often be found wearing her favorite ensembles of black and white. She possessed a calm, loving, and compassionate demeanor that was evident in all that she did. Gloria was always willing to lend a helping hand, particularly to her daughters.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Michael, her daughters Jennifer Byrnes and her husband Daniel Byrnes, Janine Masella and her husband Anthony Masella, and her five grandchildren Olivia, Sophia, Joseph, Daniel, and John. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jeanette Lupo and MaryLou LaCamera.
