Frank Anthony Territo, aged 87, was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. He attended St. John’s Villa and graduated from Port Richmond High School, before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.
During his tenure with the Marines, Frank married the love of his life, Ann (nee Hughes), and welcomed two of his four beloved children. Upon returning to Staten Island, Frank completed a course of study to become a mortician and celebrated the births of his third and fourth children.
In 1968, the family moved from their home on Mountainview Avenue to an apartment above Frank’s new business - The Gay Manor Lounge, an investment that marked the beginning of his prolific career as a businessman and it proudly remains a Staten Island staple owned and operated by his youngest son.
A legend in his own time, Frank owned several well-known establishments on the north shore: Denny’s Tavern, William Penn Tavern, the Esquire Club, the Fremont Lounge, and Century House Restaurant- which was located on Forest Avenue. His larger-than-life personality extended well beyond the walls of his businesses.
Frank’s business acumen also extended to include an automotive body shop, a gas station, a Limousine company, and a truck rental company he created and named “U Move It.”
An avid boater, Frank and his wife eventually built and moved to a waterfront home in the Laguna Village section of Point Pleasant Boro, NJ. There, Frank enjoyed outings on the water with his children and grandchildren, many of whom he taught to drive, read maps, and navigate on long road trips.
Upon retiring, Frank and Ann moved to Toms River, NJ, and began to winter in Florida. Frank, a Disney World enthusiast, spent many vacations with his children, grandchildren, and even a few great-grandchildren as a Disney Vacation Club member.
Frank is survived by his wife Ann, his four children: Glenn, Timmy, Theresa Mastrangelo (nee Territo), and Joseph, son-in-law Arthur Mastrangelo, daughters in law Jacqueline Territo (nee Doherty), Maribeth Territo (nee DeForest), nine grandchildren: Tara, Michael, Jessica, Christopher, Glenn Jr., Kevin, Alexandra, Giovanna and Juliana, and eleven great grandchildren.
A visitation for Frank will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310. A mass of Christian burial will occur Monday, March 25, 2024 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at St. Teresa RC Church, 1634 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314.
