STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Native Staten Islander Frank (Bob) Parello, 76, of Stapleton, a retired securities vice president who was hard working and devoted to his family, died Friday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton.
A Curtis High School graduate, Mr. Parello was a lifelong Stapleton resident.
He was a vice president in the margin and risk management department at Paine Webber in Manhattan, and later in Jersey City, for almost 40 years. He retired in 2001.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and football. An avid golfer, he was also interested in the news and kept up with current events by watching many broadcast reports on television.
A doting grandfather, he was all about family, and treasured being with his. He was a very special human being, and will be remembered for his sharp wit and quiet demeanor, his family said.
He attended Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Stapleton, and was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Rosebank.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; his son, Robert; his daughter, Lynn Benzak; his brother, Thomas; his sister, June Dellavalle, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Arrangements include cremation.
