Charlotte Lankford

Charlotte Anne Lankford, age 97, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 3, 2023. Beloved wife of the late William (Russ) Lankford and mother of the late son, William (Bill). Charlotte is survived by her beloved daughters, Susan and Colleen. Charlotte was born on November 25, 1925 in Bayonne, New Jersey and later moved to Staten Island, New York. After graduating from Port Richmond High School, Charlotte went on to study at Christ Hospital in Jersey City where she became a Registered Nurse. After she became an RN, she worked at numerous hospitals which included working with returning veterans and the elderly living in a nursing home. Charlotte and Russ were married in 1955 and began a family. As a loving and kind mother, her family was always her first priority. She will be greatly missed by her family, Susan (Mark) Byrnes, Colleen (Greg) Fernandez , grandchildren Gregory (Sabrina) Fernandez, James (Janella Buenaventura) Fernandez, Drew (Meagan) Byrnes, Zak (Marissa Ryan) Byrnes, Britt (Justin) Paglia, great grandchild Blain Byrnes. Charlotte is also survived by her sister Beverly Donnelly, sister-in-law Theresa Mullin, and many loving nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends. Previously deceased, parents Walter and Henrietta Mullin, husband Russ Lankford, son William Lankford, sister Connie Conti, brother Walter Mullin and wife Lorraine, brother Howard Mullin and brother-in-law Michael Donnelly. There will be services for those who would like to say a last good-bye to Charlotte at Harmons Funeral Home on Sunday July 9 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and Monday July 10 from 10 - 11 am. Interment to follow at St Peter's Cemetery.
