Cecelia never really knew me, I lived so far away my entire life - and yet as a close friend to my mother she always checked in on me and was happy to shower me and mine with well wishes and excitement as my life progressed. I was named in her honor and will cherish it as long as I live.

No doubt she was a light in the darkness to all the lives that she touched, may she rest in peace.

Cecilia was a lifelong true and treasured friend. It was a great joy to see her in Dublin with Tom in October. I’ll miss her. My heartfelt sympathy to Ann, Celia,Tom, James and Patrick and to Maura, Tom and Seamus Rooney together with Celia’s grandchildren. God rest Cecelia. Margaret Oates.

Celia was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She had a radiant smile and a heart of gold.  She was a wonderful friend to my neighbor Myra , and growing up I shared many cups of tea and Irish dinners with them both. I loved listening to all  celias stories . She will be greatly missed by myself and so many !! With  Love Gina Cundari

Some of my earliest childhood memories included Celia. I consider her family, her children cousins & every moment with her a treasure. I will miss her wit, laugh, accent & advice. ❤️ Thank you dear Celia for sharing your all persevering love & hope. You will be missed and always remembered with a smile. 

Cloverdale Avenue was the kind of block I wanted for my children.  A place of endless fun with so many kids and so much to do. The Reillys, Hughes, Halpins and Bosserts all on go carts, playing tag and kickball.  Our parents were to thank for making it what it was, and Mrs. Reilly was one of the best.
She was a happy, cheerful person, who always had time to talk.  Even more recently, when I was lucky enough to run into her on the ferry, we caught up on the news of our families and she caught me up on the news of the block.
I miss the Cloverdale days, and I will miss Mrs. Reilly.  The Reilly children were very lucky.

Cutting a rug whilst we yuk it up at Tom & Jennifer’s Rhode Island wedding, May, 2003, if memory serves correctly.  Ah, what a time it was.

Wonderful long weekend in May of 2019 in celebration of Colin's graduation from Loyola of Chicago.   Stayed in a big Airbnb in Old Town having one great big meal after another, laughing with extended family. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Acosta Irish Arts Foundation.  Cecelia’s involvement in the Irish music and dance community brought her great joy throughout life. She enjoyed ceili dancing, traditional Irish music, attending festivals, and most importantly, sharing all of it with her friends and family. She proudly passed on her love of Irish arts to her children and grandchildren, and in her memory, with the help of your donations, it will continue to be passed on to others. 
All donations will be utilized to support children who wish to study Irish arts.
