Barrett Healy, age 82, of Staten Island, New York passed away Thursday July 1st 2021. Barrett was born
in Rahway, New Jersey on April 5th 1939 and grew up in Fort Edward, New York. He is the son of the late
Robert and Caroline Healy from Fort Edward, New York. Barrett graduated Fort Edward high school
where he played varsity football, basketball and baseball. After high school he went on to Albany State
University in New York.
After college he moved to New York City where he started his career in the Insurance industry with the
Hartford Insurance company. Barrett continued to work in the insurance industry for over 50 years,
where he went on to be the owner of Associated Mutuals in New York City.
Barrett met his wife Dorothy Coughlin and was married on August 18th 1962. Dorothy and Barrett raised
their family of 3 children in Great Kills. He is survived by his wife of 58 years and 3 children: Nancy
(Andrew), Michael (Janet) and Jeffrey (Tracy) and four grandchildren: Michael, Philip, Christopher and
Ryan.
He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Princess Bay Boatmens Association. Barrett enjoyed
spending time with his family in the Adirondacks where he had a camp in the town of Pottersville.
Services will be at Casey McCallum Rice funeral home at 30 Nelson Avenue Staten Island, New York on
July 6th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral mass will take place at Saint Clare
Roman Catholic Church at 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island NY at 11:00am.
