STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Native Staten Islander Anna Milone, 98, the loving matriarch of three generations, died yesterday in Robinson Terrace Living Center, Stamford, N.Y., where she had resided for two years.
Born Anna Esposito in Tompkinsville, she graduated from Curtis High School and lived in her native community until 20 years ago, when she moved to Dongan Hills. After retiring in 1972, she spent winters in Florida.
Mrs. Milone was a supervisor for two decades at the former Uniforms by Ostwald, New Brighton. After retiring in 1972, she spent winters in Florida.
She loved to dance and delighted in being with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo and going to Atlantic City.
Mrs. Milone attended St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Dongan Hills.
Her husband of 75 years, Anthony, died in 2009.
Surviving are her son, Eugene; her daughters, Grace Petosa and Jeanette Croce; a sister, Lucy Catello, seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church. Entombment will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
