Elementary teacher, her legacy: love, guidance, peaceful memories Anastasia Donati, age 84, loving wife to husband John, devoted mother to John and Melissa, adoring grandmother to Ava, Anthony, Samantha and John, devoted mother in law to Anthony and Jaime, peacefully passed on December 28, 2021 surrounded by her family. Anastasia, best known as Stacy by all, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1937 to Maria and John Gatti. She had three siblings and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Brooklyn College, she pursued her Master's Degree in Elementary Education and was an elementary school teacher at PS 208 in Brooklyn and PS 5 in Staten Island for 28 years until her retirement in 1996. Stacy loved trips to her Florida home, gardening, playing tennis, making pizza with her grandchildren, and spending time with her closest friends of over 60 years. "You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side." A visitation for Anastasia will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A mass of Christian burial will occur Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 PM at St. Teresa's Church, 1634 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10314. A burial will occur Monday, January 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306.
