Sheila Gail (Arnder) Hulett, 66, of Stanley, North Carolina passed away peacefully, on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Sheila was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina to the late Alene (McMillian) Arnder and Colie Arnder. She was a long-time resident of Stanley and considered Gaston County her home. Sheila was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. Her love for her family was felt by everyone. She enjoyed being a grandmother and focused much of her enormous love towards them. Sheila was also a Christian woman who loved her church. She was always praying for others and enjoyed reading the Bible. Sheila was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte where she had many friends. Sheila’s passing leaves a big hole in many people’s lives, and she will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Elbert Hulett, precedes Sheila in death. Her sister, Teresa Faye McMillian, her nephew Jericho E Kiser, and niece Christina L Vitt have also gone on before her.
Sheila leaves behind 5 children and 14 grandchildren. Left to cherish their memories of Sheila, and to carry on her legacy of love are her daughter, Heather Michelle Mumtaz, and her husband Parves Mumtaz, her sons, Branston Lee Arnder and his wife Diane Arnder and Joseph Colie Hulett and his long-time girlfriend, Rianna Lords, her two stepdaughters, Shawnda Hulett and Leah Hulett, sister Cynthia A Kiser, and brother Aaron D Arnder. Missing their grandmother will be her 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who also love her dearly.
A service celebrating Sheila’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her church, Calvary Baptist Church, 2727 Mount Holly – Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour before the Celebration of Life Service, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at the church. Sheila will be laid to rest, next to her dear husband – Elbert, immediately following the service. The graveside committal service and burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway in Mount Holly. Reverend Jack Homesley will officiate as he offers words of encouragement to family and friends gathering to remember Sheila. Flowers are welcome and may be sent directly to the church.
