I went to school with Roy. He was a very kind man. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. You have my deepest condolences. Sheri Heffner.

I’m Ronnie, middle brother of the Stephens clan. If you had ever wanted a little brother, Roy would be the one to have.  I joined the Air Force after hIgh school and traveled the world, courtesy of Uncle Sam. These assignments took me far away from my southern roots to Europe, the Middle East, and others. I always felt comfort knowing that Roy was there taking care of things, especially during Desert Shield/Storm. Even when our parents got older, he was there to ensure their well-being and for that, he will always be my hero. We will miss you, little brother, and you will always have a place in our heart. I can just picture the scene on one of the lakes in Heaven;  you wearing your favorite hat and yelling “Fish On”! Rest In Peace, little bro🙏

I am Richard, Roy's older brother by 5 years. And no an  older brother shouldn't outlive a younger brother. He was taken far to early by this Covid that also took our Father in 2020. I went into the Air Force at 18 after graduation, so Roy and I weren't close in geographical terms, but we were close and kept in contact over the years. I tried to keep both of my brothers out of trouble when we were growing up, but sometimes that was a chore. Like the time Roy wrecked his friends car with only a drivers permit and got taken to jail. Dad let him stay the one night to teach him a lesson. Guess it worked.  Don't remember him ever being in trouble after that. The last photo I have of the three of us is below. We were visiting our mom's grave in 2019 while we were all at home for Dad's 90th birthday. I will miss you Roy. Rest in peace my brother. You are now not suffering in anyway.

Dawn and Florence we are so sad that Roy has passed away so young.  It was our privilege to be your family’s Pastor and wife for almost 40 years.  Love and prayers to your family.

I am truly sorry for the passing of Roy.  God took him far too young.  I am the oldest cousin on the Stephens side of my family and Roy was one of the youngest.  I remember him and his brothers when they were little boys and lived near us.  He was always a sweet and quiet child.  My deepest sympathies to Dawn, Florence, Richard and Ronnie for their heartbreaking loss.
