Mildred Bumgarner Pressley

Mildred Bumgarner Pressley, 86, of Burnsville, NC, formerly of Gastonia, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Burnsville, NC. She was the daughter of the late John and Bessie McGinnis Bumgarner.

Mrs. Pressley was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gastonia and spent her life lovingly caring for children and was known and loved by many as “Teacher”.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy Pressley Styles, Becky Pressley Justice and husband Channing and, Susan Lewis Broome; grandchildren, Cassandra Styles, Kelly Howell, Abbey Broome and Justin Broome.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Pressley and granddaughter, Baby Jennifer Bynum.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Holly with the Reverend Steve Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley.
