Mary Melton Brittain

Mary was also preceded in death by her parents William T. Melton and Lula Stone Melton. She was married to the late Lewis Brittain for 67 years. Three brothers and five sisters preceded Mary in death. A granddaughter, Dana McGinnis, also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughters Sue Brittain of Monroe, Kay Brittain of Newton and Beverly and husband Lewis Carpenter of Stanley. Also remembering her are seven grandchildren; Buddy Lewis McGinnis, Sherry Clemmer, Brian McGinnis, Chris Sweatt, Joy Odom, Scott Sweatt and Brent Carpenter. Mary also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday December 15, 2016 at Hillcrest Gardens, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mt. Holly. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday December 15, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home 412 South Main Street, Stanley.
