With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Dian Doster, who left this world on February 19, 2025, in Stanley, NC, at the age of 80. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving daughter Angie, her only brother Larry, and other close family members.
Born on August 2, 1944, in Charlotte, NC, Linda was a beloved mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Linda dedicated over 30 years of her life to A&P (Earthgrains) Bakery, where she worked as a supervisor before retiring in 1995. Outside of work, she was an avid bowler who won many trophies in the sport, always bringing her competitive spirit and enthusiasm to the lanes. She was a longtime member of Hills Chapel United Methodist Church, where she found joy in both her faith and the people she worshiped with.
Linda’s presence was unforgettable—she loved to laugh and, even more, to make others laugh. She was always the life of any party she attended, bringing warmth, humor, and energy wherever she went. Her family meant everything to her, and she loved them fiercely. Above all, her daughter, Angie, was the light of her life, and Linda cherished her deeply.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Angela Doster; her devoted sisters, Doris Bradshaw and Gloria Edwards; and her cherished brother, Larry Doster. She is preceded in death by her father, Wiley M. Doster; her mother, Missouri Harrington Doster; her sister, Ruth Strickland; and several other family members who have gone on before her including her beloved great nephew, Craig Bradshaw.
Her memory will forever be held in the hearts of her family and friends. A service will be held to honor her life, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Stanley Total Living Center or a charity of your choice in her memory.
Linda’s love, laughter, and kindness will live on through those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A visitation for Linda will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Hill's Chapel United Methodist Church, 988 NC-16, Stanley, NC 28164. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 PM. The committal service will follow all services at Hill's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
