Judith "Judy" Ann (Vanderburg) Garrison

Judith Vanderburg Bowen Garrison, 83, of Mt. Holly, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on December 20, 2023. She was born on July 26, 1940. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Judy was an avid seamstress who liked to make quilts for her friends, family and church members. She also enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful African violets of all colors and varieties. One of her great joys was sharing her African violets.

During her long career of more than 20 years with the City of Mt. Holly, her tremendous faith, kind-heartedness and helpful ways offered her opportunities to make many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul James Vanderburg and Pauline Wyatt Vanderburg.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 22 years John Garrison, her son Paul Bowen (Shelly), her daughter Tina Irick (Jim), four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also, Stepson Phillip Garrison (Barbie) and Stepdaughter Kelly Garrison.

The family will hold a private graveside funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Judy’s memory can be made to Via HealthPartners/Lincoln County Hospice.
