John Eugene Bradley, 78, of Boger City passed away peacefully on Sunday May 14, 2023 at Atrium in Lincolnton. John was born on October 28, 1944 in Orlando, Florida. Professionally, he was a truck driver and he worked at J. P. Stevens for over 20 years before he retired. John was focused on his family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. In addition to his grandchildren, he also loved his Bojangles gravy biscuits. He could eat that three time a day, everyday! The Cherokee mountains was his life and he really enjoyed Elvis, gospel music and he was really proud of his Cherokee heritage. John’s life affected many people and he will be dearly missed.
John is the son of the late Ruth (Lance) Bradley and William Henry Bradley. His wife, Joan (Fisher) Bradley has also gone on before him. His sister, Pansy Wooten and brother, Bill Bradley have also preceded John in death.
John is survived by three daughters, Priscilla Harrill and her husband Wes, Holly Welch and her husband Michael and Lucy Humphries and her husband Jonathan and two sons, Charles, “Charlie” Bradley and his girlfriend Tiffany and Gregory Bradley and his wife Natasha. John’s legacy includes 13 grandchildren – Austin, Jason, Megan, Luke, Katie, Charles Jr., Joshua, Landon, Madison, Isabella, Hannah, Alexandria and Jordan and a great-grandchild on the way.
A service in remembrance of John’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday May 18, 2023 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway in Mount Holly, North Carolina. Reverend John Stainback will officiate and he will offer words of encouragement and hope to all that gather to remember John. Austin Bates, Jason Bates, Landon Gonzalez, Joshua Gonzalez, Charles Bradley and Gregory Bradley will serve as pallbearers.
